Table Rock Lake
Overview
Spanning the rolling hills of the Ozarks in Southwest Missouri and Northern Arkansas, Table Rock Lake is one of the region’s most treasured destinations, known for its crystal-clear water, scenic shoreline, and year-round recreation. Created in 1958 with the completion of Table Rock Dam on the White River, the lake stretches over 40,000 acres with more than 800 miles of shoreline, offering endless opportunities for outdoor living. Table Rock Lake is widely recognized for its exceptional boating and fishing. Anglers from across the country are drawn to its reputation as one of the top bass fishing lakes in the United States, while boaters, swimmers, and water sports enthusiasts enjoy its calm, clean waters. Numerous marinas, resorts, and public access points make it easy to get out on the lake and enjoy everything it has to offer. Beyond the water, the lake is surrounded by the natural beauty of the Ozarks, with wooded hills, scenic overlooks, and nearby parks providing opportunities for hiking, camping, and wildlife viewing. The area is also home to Table Rock State Park, a popular destination for outdoor recreation and family activities. Communities surrounding Table Rock Lake—such as Kimberling City, Shell Knob, Cape Fair, and areas near Branson—offer a variety of lifestyles, from quiet lakefront living to more active, tourism-driven environments. This diversity makes the lake a desirable location for full-time residents, vacation homeowners, and visitors alike. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Table Rock Lake is carefully maintained for flood control, power generation, and recreation.
